The Continuing Care Concept for Funeral Professionals

What Would it Be Worth?

  • What would it be worth to your funeral home to have a family member you had served chase you down in the parking lot to tell you how much your aftercare program meant to them?
  • What would it be worth to your firm to have members of your community telling their friends how much you helped them after the death of a loved one?
  • What would it mean for families to grasp the value of the funeral and what you offer?

The Continuing Care Concept takes firms through a year of aftercare providing funeral professionals with seven opportunities to make contact with the families they serve with no pressure to buy other service.

Every Family we serve is in grief.
Some more than others, of course,
but all of them walk into our facilities
with heavy and broken hearts
waiting for someone to reach out and touch them...
When the pain is ignored, or avoided,
they feel rejected and that we do not care.
—Doug Manning

Start with Building Memories: Planning a Meaningful Funeral either pre-need or at-need. The second touch is the Comfort Card Funeral which is sent right after the funeral thanking the family for the privilege of serving them. Next are the Continuing Series books which are sent out over the course of the first eleven months following a loss which provides four touches during the year. Then finally, the Journey Comfort Card which is sent at the anniversary of the loss.

7 touches in a year, seven opportunities to remind families of your care and concern.
